Steps On How to Create a 2025–2026 JAMB Profile for Direct Entry and UTME

We have recently been bombarded with questions from potential JAMBites, such as:

The initial step in registering for JAMB for the 2025–2026 academic year is creating your JAMB profile.

We will address all of the aforementioned queries in this post and provide all the information you require to create a JAMB profile.

What is JAMB Profile?

The personal account that candidates create in order to register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is known as a JAMB profile.

Before proceeding to create your JAMB profile, you must have the following details:

This is compulsory, and you must enrol if you haven’t already.

NOTE: Verify that no one else has already used the phone number you intend to use for registration for UTME/Direct Entry (DE).

Below, is how to create a JAMB profile using your phone in the 2025/2026 academic session:

To create a JAMB profile and get your code, send a direct sms to JAMB centre number 55019.
Write “NIN,” followed by a space, and then your 11-digit NIN in the message.
For example, NIN 1234567890
Simply replace 1234567890 with your NIN and send the message to 55019.
You will be charged 50 Naira for the sms.
After sending it, you will receive your unique profile code, which you will use for the JAMB registration.

Make sure the information in your NIN accurately represents you before producing a JAMB profile code. If it is incorrect, JAMB will generate it automatically, which may later affect you.
It is not possible to generate a JAMB profile code or build a JAMB profile using someone else’s NIN.
You are not allowed to use another person’s phone number to generate a JAMB profile code or to create a JAMB profile.
You cannot create a new profile if you have already made one in 2022, 2023, or 2024; instead, you must register for the 2025 UTME using your previous JAMB profile code.
Incase you have forgotten your profile code, send RESEND to 55019 so as to retrieve it.
Make sure you link a verified & active email address to your profile
To recover lost JAMB profile password via SMS, Go to the SMS app on your phone. Type Password followed by a space and then your registered email address and send it to 55019. For example, Password [email protected]
Creating your UTME profile using JAMB USSD code (55019) instead of the www.www.efacility.jamb.gov.ng portal is advisable.
The cost of creating a JAMB profile is only 50 naira.
Note that JAMB profile code is 11 digit number

You should receive a unique profile code after sending your NIN to 55019, however occasionally you might not because of typical issues like

Recharge your SIM card with at least N50 airtime, then resend your National Identification Number (NIN) to 55019.

Ensure you use the same SIM card you used during NIN registration.

Deactivate DND on your SIM card by sending STOP to 2442.

Once deactivated, try resending your NIN to 55019.

Deactivate DND on your phone/device
